THE PLATINUM HIGHWAY Why Is mentoring and coaching so important in the entertainment industry now? Every organization and individual defines talent management differently, yet most artists we observe and interview and have had the pleasure to work does not implement this concept particularly well. That is not surprising since most aspiring artists and entertainmenters choose the "fly by the seat of the pants" approach. No matter how much debate there is about the term "talent management and development," no matter how many systems are set up and no matter how long industry executives, project managers and investors deliberate on who's a high potential and who's not, this inescapable fact remains: The most important part of talent management is in the hands of the striving artist themselves Unfortunately, locating the help, wisdom and professional experience can be difficult and expensive. One of the keys to success in the entertainment industry is building a rich network of talented and experienced individuals to aide them in their journey. Second is to actively seek new knowledge and education to the changes in the industry and learn from the successful mentors that have taken the journey ahead of them. Talent needs coaching and mentoring. Strangely enough our Star Mentor staff also become the "Mentees" as well because we too learn from our experiences at the seminar and interaction with the attendees.
